WA says NO to Daylight Saving

May 16th - DLS vote ...

In its biggest ever (and 4th consecutive) defeat, DayLight Saving in WA was soundly rejected, with all regions of WA voting against bar some areas in Perth metro (16th May 2009).

We had some spirited debate on whether we wanted DLS or not in a previous post13 comments were for DLS (YES), 9 were NO, with 2 not expressing a preference. A couple more YES comments were made (before the vote was cast) below.

WA premier (and member for Cottesloe) Colin Barnett believes the issue should not be raised again "for another 20 years". so that's it for DLS...

So that was DayLight Saving - do we want it?

Day Light Saving - yes or no?Don't discuss religion or politics if you want to keep a quiet life. Attend any barbecue or adult gathering these days and the question of daylight saving pops up.

So with the daylight saving in WA now over for a 3rd (trial) year, what do you reckon? Should we keep it? No? Will the May 16th vote say yes or no? What do you think? Do you want more summer sunlight in the morning or the evening? (that's really what it comes down to).
